Lately I’m rather fond of good French thriller, and I come across good surprises. Tonight was the prey, a simple film that shows the codes of The Fugitive efficiently and above all with keeping him a kind of frantic pace hyper efficient. I’m not a fan of Albert Dupontel, but I find myself surprised by some good roles from him recently as The Ugly (of course, I keep in mind the terrible Locked Out). Avoiding all the cliches of the art of making thrillers Overseas, the film is hard, sober and especially raw apple. He let out a real smell of fear and fugitive.

A robber escapes from prison to track down his former cellmate, a serial killer who has taken him sticking his crimes on the back. A Police Brigade fugitives chases the robber, in spite of himself become public enemy number one. When all players have been the end of himself, to be the hunter, who will be the prey?

The history of this thriller is well put together. It stands from start to finish. So certainly the work of the dialogue could have been more careful, because it was not really right to hyper touching scenes, over pure action and flawless but why not. After all the film owes its effectiveness to what he wants us to believe and where he wants to bring us to this end we really expect it (the happy ending that is not well spent for me anyway). But it is mainly through the provision of a Dupontel that does not stop, which is not exhausted, which is a bit like Jack Bauer (no need to go to the toilet what). Prey could have fallen into the cliché film without much interest as we book each year.

Except that now, it”s simple, it is in fact not many miles on what you want we presented. This is enemy number one ok, but now, the management of the case by the brigade is working. We feel that the script does not rust, despite the barriers that needed by itself. The resemblance to a good episode of 24 is certainly not in vain. There may be a lack of courage by the time we wanted the film to go much further (including the real villain of the story which is quite forgotten in the movie and whose development alone with this young redhead could have been more controlled and less draft). But why not, in any case, the prey still deserves to be seen is a surprise.
Rating: 6.5/10. In short, a movie muscular, efficient punch and strong do you want in there with the casting.
